When to go?

The best fishing season runs from November to the end of February. October, March, April and May can also be good, or even very good, but this largely depends on rainfall patterns.

If April is particularly rainy, May can be excellent. On the other hand, if the weather remains too dry for too long, fishing can be more difficult.

Ultimately, it is the movement of baitfish that, so to speak, makes the difference between good and poor fishing conditions.

It is an 8-metre pirogue fitted with a 25 hp engine.
It is suitable for two anglers, or three if they are experienced. It is not designed for offshore sea fishing. It is used as a “taxi” to reach the beaches in 2 to 3 minutes and as an anchoring point in the channel.
Its engine is more than sufficient for these short trips.
This is actually one of Bangué Lodge’s main advantages, as it saves anglers from having to make long journeys back and forth for every fishing session.

In general, the group alternates: one or two anglers in the pirogue, and two or three fishing from the shore. It is also possible to have two pirogues available.

 
 
 

The day is flexible and can be organised according to the anglers’ preferences.

The most popular fishing times are generally from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

We mostly fish at night, especially the more adventurous anglers and keen casters! We then get up early enough to be in position before the incoming tide begins.

Yes. Just let us know the day before so we have enough time to go and get it.

No. The problem with renting fishing equipment on site is that it deteriorates quickly in the local climate.

It would also see relatively little use, as most guests visiting this type of destination are passionate anglers who bring their own gear.
