If you are flying with Air France, you will arrive in the late afternoon. It is therefore preferable to stay overnight at a hotel rather than risk missing your domestic connection to Port-Gentil.
This overnight stay in Libreville can be avoided if you arrive early in the morning with Royal Air Maroc. You can then remain at the airport and take one of the morning domestic flights to Port-Gentil, or travel to Port-Môle to board a ferry.

Less expensive, shorter and easier…
For the journey to Port-Gentil, you can choose between flying and taking the ferry.
Since Fly Gabon reduced its fares, a return flight between Libreville and Port-Gentil has become the more attractive option. It saves two days of travel compared with the ferry, as well as reducing hotel and meal expenses.
In fact, fewer overnight hotel stays are required: one on the outbound journey when flying with Air France and one on the return journey with Royal Air Maroc. The flight itself takes only 30 minutes.

The ferry: a first taste of Gabon
For those who would like to discover Port-Gentil on the outward or return journey, the ferry remains a worthwhile alternative.
The crossing takes between 2 hours 45 minutes and 4 hours, depending on the boat.

Of course, if you arrive by plane in the morning, you can avoid this stopover and we will pick you up directly from the airport by 4×4.
As ferries arrive in the late afternoon, however, it is no longer possible to continue to Iguéla by 4×4 that same day.
We will pick you up from the port, take you to your hotel and arrange the departure time for the following morning.

The transfer to Iguéla takes between 3 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours, depending on the condition of the track after Omboué.

No, Léon Mba International Airport is the only point of entry into Gabon for international flights.
No, they simply offer the most frequent and fastest flights, but they are far from being the cheapest! Three other airlines also serve Gabon: Air Algérie, Ethiopian Airlines, and Turkish Airlines.
Yes, in Port-Gentil.
Assistance can also be arranged upon arrival at Libreville Airport, with a transfer to your hotel. The same applies to the transfer from the Tropicana Hotel to Port Môle.
With Fly Gabon’s lower fares, flying used to save around €150 compared to taking the boat—even when factoring in the associated hotel and meal costs. However, following a recent €100 increase in the round-trip airfare (due to the war in Iran?), the total costs for flying and taking the boat are now equivalent.
Nevertheless, flying saves two days of travel time compared to the ferry. The flight option requires just one night in a hotel, whereas the ferry requires three.
